AbujaNigeria pledges $3 billion more for health by 2030.
The US, which funded HIV, tuberculosis and malaria programmes for 25 years, exits in 2030.
Under a non-binding five-year memorandum signed 19 December 2025, the US ramps down its funding as Nigeria’s grows, health minister Muhammad Pate said.
Pate acknowledged Nigeria is not yet in a position to fully fund its health sector.
Pate said either party can walk away from the agreement at any time.
