Four Salvadoran soldiers are missing after a gang bombing.

It is the first major attack on Haiti’s UN-backed force since it began operating on 1 June.

Gangs, which control an estimated 70% of Port-au-Prince, also fired on rescue helicopters, El Salvador’s army said.

The UN Security Council meets on Haiti Monday, ahead of the country’s first general election in over a decade.
