United StatesLockheed says its PAC-3 Edge interceptor deploys from 2031.
Lockheed says it will defeat advanced ballistic and hypersonic missiles better than today’s PAC-3.
It adds a new seeker, upgraded controls and a solid rocket motor developed with Northrop Grumman, Lockheed says.
Lockheed has not disclosed the new seeker’s technical details, and testing does not start until 2027.
The Army, which dropped a predecessor program over cost in 2024, picked Lockheed and one unnamed rival.
