Rio de JaneiroPetrobras is testing Cardano to verify low-carbon fuel claims.

The Brazil-controlled oil company would put sustainable jet fuel and Diesel R claims on a public ledger, the Cardano Foundation announced.

Under book-and-claim, an airline can pay for sustainable fuel’s environmental benefit even when the fuel is used elsewhere.

Both projects remain research, with no disclosed timeline or fuel volumes.
